New Tricks

Look Ma no hands! Carson is almost 6 months old. He loves to jump, giggle, touch his toes and yes play with the remote. He just started sitting up by himself...yet a little tipsy. Carson is fascinated with the remote and would rather play with that than one of his toys. Thanks Dad! ;)

Little Scotty ;)

I was reminded how far behind I was with updating the family blog. As you can see Carson is definitely looking more and more like his daddy. Carson is are little ball of energy....loves to babble, roll (yes, roll), sample everything in his mouth, and interact with people. He just started rice cereal...what a mess. ;) It's bee fun watching him grow and imagining what he's going to be like when he's older.

Splish Splash

Carson is starting to enjoy bath time. It's not as cold as his first sponge bath. Mr froggy keeps him nice and warm too.

Precious Little Baby Boy

Carson had his first photo shoot. A friend from church is starting her own photography business and thought it would be fun to take some baby pictures. He slept through most of it and towards the end let us know he was done. :) The adorable outfit was knit by a friends grandma. I couldn't resist dressing up my little baby doll. :)

My new buddy

My co-worker/friend Katie just had Alexander Ryan last Thursday. It was fun going through pregnancy together. Now we get to plan play dates with our sons. By the way we did not plan the matching hats. :)

Picture Time

My First......

We patiently waited 2 weeks before introducing a pacifier and bottle to Carson. He did very well with both. We don't know what we did before the pacifier....ahhh Silence!

Klondike meet your baby brother

Grandpa and Grandma Z watched Klondike so we could adjust to being at home with Carson. Klondike's first response to Carson's hat was to sniff it and then toss it in the air. Grandpa and Grandma thought it would be fun to put the hat on Klondike. It must have done the trick, because Klondike has adjusted real well to his new baby brother.

Carson Ali

In the right hand corner we have...Carson Ali. "Float like a butterfly, sting like a bee." Grandma Z made some mittens for our little boxer. Maybe a pair of red ones would be more fitting.

The family tree continues to grow

Handsome little guy

So serious at such a young age. He definitely has a few facial expressions. Scott can't wait to make him smile...which shouldn't be too long.

Excited Grandparents

Happy Birthday Carson!

This was no joke...the day had finally come to meet our little guy. Carson Scott was born Wednesday, April 1 at 9:23 AM. He was a healthy 8lbs 110z and 21'' long. Scott and I are truly blessed. We look forward to this new phase of life as parents.

Baby Shower

Celebrating the arrival of baby boy Van Dyke with both Mom VD and Mom Z.

Nursery

36 weeks

The countdown begins....only a few more weeks to go. The big question has been...."So, are you and Scott all ready for the baby?" Well, I don't know if first time parents are ever fully ready. However, we are very excited for this new phase of life. We are blessed!

Klondike's New Bed

Klondike seems to think that his new bed is the cradle at the foot of our bed. Scott thinks that Klondike and the baby will just sleep together. I'd like to see that. :)

14 More Weeks To Go

"I knew you before I formed you in your mother's womb." Jeremiah 1:5

It's hard to believe, I'm already in my 3rd trimester. Baby is definitely growing and becoming more active. We might have our hands full, he seems to be more of a night owl.
Scott unfortunately got the flu over Christmas. One thing that helped lift his spirits was the sound of his sons heart beat. wooosh...wooosh. I got this cool idea to record our child's heart beat and place it inside a teddy bear for a keepsake.

Boy or Girl?

Exciting News

When Scott and I found out that we were expecting, we couldn't wait to share the good news with our family and friends. We had our ultrasound the middle of November. I think Scott's favorite part was hearing his child's heart beat for the first time. Our curiosity got the best of us, we had to find out if it was a boy or a girl....Scott's intuition was right, it's a BOY! His arrival date is April 6. This is the day before my birthday. Wow! That would be an amazing B-day present.
